Two-Tier Mezzanine Floor for Storage King

A Vanguard Industrial/ Mezzanines case study

Storage King is the number one self storage brand in Australia and has recently opened a UK operation based in Birmingham.

At present they are the fastest growing operator within the UK with many regional locations.

Each facility has individual lockable rooms for either Business or Personal Use, all of various sizes, each with individual alarms with 24 hour closed circuit TV monitoring.

Vanguard Contracts were employed to design and install a “shaped” 1500 m², two-tier storage mezzanine floor within an existing substantial storage warehouse in Liverpool. Each level having 102 various sized storage rooms, varying from 25-200 sq.ft. The structure also included two means of escape staircases and perimeter powder coated balustrade.

Vanguard Contracts also carried out other project works including the one hour fire protection to the underside of the mezzanine, together with two staircase enclosures, various concrete access ramps and other associated building works.

The contract was completed within the allotted programme enabling Storage King to open for business ahead of local competition.
