Browns Bar and Dining is located in an impressive Grade 2 Listed converted Corn Mill overlooking the River Severn in Worcester city centre.
Vanguard Contracts were appointed by the proprietors in the early stages of planning to produce visual concept designs and budget cost plans to assist the owners with their plan to create Worcester’s premier contemporary dining and wine bar venue.
Because of the nature of the original building it has been possible to cleverly mould original and lively spaces by the introduction of a mezzanine floor supported off the existing Victorian cast iron columns. Stainless steel handrail with glass infill panels have been utilised and dark “wenge” wood employed to create a contemporary theme that epitomizes the high standards of food and service experienced.
Vanguard Contracts designed and manufactured a bespoke bar area which was able to accommodate and display the Clients selection of fine wines to their full potential together with the conversion of an existing cloakroom into an illuminated display case for Jeroboams and Magnums of Champagne with full height sliding glass doors.
Working in conjunction with Catina Design Architects and Worcester Heritage, the existing neglected courtyard area which adjoins the riverside promenade has been rejuvenated by creating a new entrance area with a back lit feature staircase to gain access and increase footfall from the Riverside.
Vanguard Contracts were appointed as Principal Contractor and carried out all major aspects of the turnkey refurbishment in a six week timeframe — including 4 bank holidays!
Browns Bar and Dining currently holds 2 AA Rosettes for culinary excellence, as well as an award of 5 stars for their food hygiene.
