Hereford & Worcester Fire & Rescue Service

A Vanguard case study

Vanguard projects were successful in the tendering of this project which was to reconfigure an existing office located in the headquarters of the Hereford and Worcester fire service.

Additional office space was required to facilitate the move of eighty staff into the existing, partly vacant, ground floor area of a three storey office block.

The main existing ground floor office had several offices, staffroom and recreation facilities of which the existing walls, ceilings and partitions were stripped out to form a completely new open plan office area layout.

An element of the existing electrical and mechanical services were stripped out and both systems were upgraded, and renewed as required, to provide additional comfort heating and lighting the newly configured areas.

The newly formed open plan office then had new ceilings installed along with high performance LED lighting, a new fire alarm system along with an updated intruder detection system.

New floor finishes were installed through using both carpet tiles and vinyl flooring finishes and additional flooring works were completed to the existing main reception area lobby. A new canteen area was provided with all new unitary, white goods and hot water provisions.

Scope of Works included Demolitions & Alterations | Partitions & Ceilings | Decoration | Plumbing Services | Electrical works | Heating & Ventilation | Floorcoverings
